建国記念日の朝、
ポール・ウエラーの歌声で
目覚めた。

といっても実際に曲が流れていたわけではなく、夢うつつに曲が浮かんで起きただけだ。
ポールウエラー率いるスタイルカウンシルに出会ったのは19歳のころ。
1984年にスタイルカウンシルがリリースしたアルバム「カフェブリュCafé Bleu」からのシングルカット曲で、
オリジナルのバックはピアノのみのアコースティックバージョンと、テンポも速いフルバンドバージョンがあり、
イギリスのみならずアメリカでもヒット、日本では「おしゃれカフェバーミュージック」としてかなりのヒットをした。
自分は、スタイルカウンシルを国技館で（外タレブームで小屋が無かった。1987年4月）、ポールウエラーのソロコンサートを汐留ピットで観た。
（汐留PITのコンサートはスタイルカウンシル最後のコンサートという情報もあるが自分はポールウエラーのソロだった気がしている、そのうちもぅ少し調べよう）。
ポールウエラーの歌詞は多分に政治的なもの多いが、精神保健福祉士も趣味で（？！）取った自分には、心理学的な香りを感じることが多い。

こう訳すと（おそらくポールウエラー自身がもっている傾向性～Mood disorder（気分障害）から広がる詩の世界と感じられるのではなかろうか？
